Jamshedpur: Call 1950 if voter information slips not received

Jamshedpur: With May 18 being the final day for the distribution of voter information slips, District Election Officer Ananya Mittal has issued a call to action for residents who have not yet received their slips. Since May 7, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have diligently been distributing these slips door-to-door to every voter in the district, as per Mittal’s directives. For those who have not received their slips, Mittal has provided recourse – a toll-free complaint hotline in 1950. He assured that BLOs will promptly deliver the slips to their respective homes upon receiving complaints.

Emphasizing the paramount importance of achieving 100% voter participation in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024, Mittal highlighted the distribution of colorful voter guides alongside the slips. BLOs have been strictly instructed to hand over the slips only to the voter or their family member, ensuring accuracy and transparency in the process.

The voter information slip contains crucial details including the part number and name in the electoral roll, serial number, polling station name, date of voting, and a QR code for convenient access. On the reverse side, the slip features a map of the polling station, BLO contact details, information on alternative voting documents prescribed by the Commission, and other important instructions.

The colorful voter guide provides a comprehensive overview of the voting process through Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), along with information on Election Commission of India’s initiatives such as the Saksham-ECI App, Voter Helpline App, Know Your Candidate App, and C-Vigil App. Additionally, it educates voters on registration, voting from home for disabled people and senior citizens, and the postal ballot facility.

Mittal’s proactive measures aim to ensure that every voter is well-equipped and informed to exercise their democratic right effectively. Whether in urban centers or remote villages, efforts are being made to empower every voter with the necessary information for a successful democratic participation.
