Clear and dry weather for next five days
Jamshedpur: The Indian Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Ranchi Meteorological Centre has forecasted clear and dry weather across Jharkhand for the next five days, providing relief from unexpected weather fluctuations. According to the latest update, no major changes in the maximum temperature are expected in the next 48 hours. However, meteorologists predict that a slight dip in daytime temperatures may be experienced after this period.
Over the past 24 hours, Baharagora in East Singhbhum emerged as the hottest location in Jharkhand, recording a maximum temperature of 39.3 degrees Celsius. This highlights the rising heat levels in parts of the state, particularly in regions with lower altitude and less green cover.
Meanwhile, Jamshedpur recorded a high of 38 degrees Celsius, making it one of the warmer cities in the state. The capital city, Ranchi, witnessed a relatively moderate temperature of 33 degrees Celsius, providing its residents with some respite from the increasing heat.
The IMD has noted that maximum temperatures have been on an upward trend across Jharkhand in the past 24 hours. This increase is in line with seasonal patterns as the state transitions further into the summer months.
Climatologists suggest that the ongoing temperature rise is attributed to clear skies and dry northwesterly winds, which have minimized cloud cover and allowed solar radiation to heat up land surfaces more effectively. The absence of rain and moisture has further contributed to the spike in temperatures across various districts.
While the immediate forecast suggests stable temperatures, meteorologists indicate that a slight dip in day temperatures could be observed after 48 hours. This could be due to changes in wind patterns or localized cooling effects, especially in areas with higher elevation and dense vegetation. However, this drop may not be significant enough to provide major relief from the heat. As summer conditions intensify, health experts recommend that people: Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water. Avoid direct sun exposure during peak afternoon hours. Wear light-colored, breathable clothing to stay cool. Consume fresh fruits and vegetables to maintain energy levels.
