Prioritize Ethics Over Shortcuts: Vice President at IIM Ranchi

Ranchi (IANS): Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan urged graduating students of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi on Saturday to prioritize ethical values over shortcuts in their professional journeys. Serving as the Chief Guest for the 15th Convocation Ceremony, he emphasized that true success extends far beyond financial gain.

A Call for Integrity and Purpose

In his address, the Vice President called upon students to anchor their careers in character, integrity, and purpose. “Success is not measured merely by financial achievements, but also by how responsibly one contributes to society,” he stated. He described ethical leadership and trust as the bedrock of enduring institutions and expressed satisfaction that IIM Ranchi nurtures these core values.

Recalling his tenure as the Governor of Jharkhand, Radhakrishnan noted that he has closely followed the institute’s growth and significant milestones in recent years.

Innovation in Education

During the ceremony, the Vice President inaugurated the country’s first B-school Virtual Reality Case Repository. Developed by IIM Ranchi, he described the project as a major innovation that will transform management education through immersive technology.

Celebrating Academic Success

The ceremony saw 558 students receive their degrees. The institute also felicitated toppers from the 2024-26 batch across various programs, including MBA, MBA-BA, MBA-HRM, and Executive MBA.

  • Awards: Seven meritorious students received medals and citations.

  • Special Honors: Two students earned the Student Citizenship Award and the Prof. Ashish Hajela Award.

National Perspectives on Leadership

Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar also congratulated the graduates, calling the convocation a defining milestone fueled by hard work and discipline. He urged the class to contribute to nation-building as sensitive, responsible citizens. The Governor specifically praised the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Centre for Policy, Leadership and Governance and the Centre for Tribal Affairs for their roles in advancing inclusive development.

The event drew several high-profile dignitaries, including Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan, Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth, and Jharkhand Minister Sudivya Kumar.
