Jamshedpur boy tops JEE Main Session 1, scores 99.95 percentile

Jamshedpur, July 11: Shrijan Ranjan, class XII student of Vidya Bharati Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Telco, brought laurels to his alma mater and parents by achieving a whopping 99.95 percentile marks in JEE Main 2022 session I. He is the top ranker across Kolhan division. His proud parents, Sanjay Kumar Ranjan and Bhavna Kumari, teach physics and chemistry respectively at Narayana Coaching Centre.

The result was announced by National Testing Agency (NTA) on Monday, July 11.

According to Srijan, his success is the result of guidance given to him from time to time by his parents and coaching centre manager Shyam Bhushan. “I used to study for six hours at home. I could not solve five questions in the first session of JEE Main due to some confusion. I was not sure of the correct answer and hence chose to drop those questions due to negative marking,” he said.

Srijan loves cricket and guitar and follows his passion whenever he gets some leisure time. He is now preparing for the second session of JEE Main. “I scored 255 out of 300 in the first session. My score suffered due to negative marking. It would be my endeavour to improve my score in the second session,” he said with confidence.

Srijan had achieved All India Rank 10 in COMEDK (Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka) Under Graduate Entrance Test. He is the only student to have passed the Young Scientist Fellowship Scheme. He has also qualified Physics Olympiad. Around 6000 students had taken the JEE Main session I from Kolhan this year. There were two exam centres at Al-Kabri Polytechnic and one centre at RVS College.

Recently,  Shrijan achieved success in the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (GYTCL)-2022.

Shyam Bhushan, director, Jamshedpur Center of Narayana informed that Shrijan Ranjan is a student of five year classroom programme of Narayana Sakchi Center.

Shrijan’s father Sanjay Kumar Ranjan and mother Bhavna Kumari are both teachers of Physics and Chemistry at Narayana Institute.
