Jamshedpur, May 23: A 19 year-old youth, identified as Gulshan Choudhary, was brutally killed by his six childhood friends following a dispute over monetary transaction in Jawaharnagar, Mango, on 22nd May last, police said.
Police have arrested five of the accused persons and sent them to judicial custody. Those arrested were identified as Mohammad Shamshad, Parvez Ansari, Sameer Ahmad alias Kala, Mohammad Sakib and Danish Khan. The sixth accused, currently at large, has been identified as Imran, police said.
The body of the deceased, a resident of Road No 7, Kaveri Road, Daiguttu under Mango PS, was found near bushes in Jawaharnagar around 12.45 am on Monday.
Gulshan was missing since the evening of Saturday.

Giving details of the police action in the case, SP City K Vijay Shankar said, “The accused persons killed Gulshan due to a dispute with Imran over some transaction of money. We have recovered the motorcycle and slippers of the deceased along with a blood-stained brick, a knife, one mobile phone, a blood-stained cloth and a wooden plank used in the crime from the murder scene.”
The SP said all accused are workers and they tried to mislead investigators by giving different account of the crime. The five were arrested within six hours of the crime, he said.
Gulshan, who used to work at a medical store in Golmuri Refugee Colony, had called his father Chandrashekhar Choudhary on Saturday around 8 pm and asked for money. He had told his father that Imran and others would kill him if they did not get money. After an hour, Gulshan called again and said he would come home, but he did not return home, said the SP.
The murder case was revealed when police arrested one Sameer, a worker employed at Imran’s shop. “Sameer informed us that Imran, Shamshad and Parvez reached Jawaharnagar around 6.30 pm with Gulshan. An altercation ensued between Imran and Gulshan. Thereafter, Imran and others killed Gulshan and hid his body in the bushes behind Imran’s house,” said the SP.
Cops suspect the accused persons whacked Gulshan on his head with some blunt and heavy object in order to kill him.
