Jamshedpur: Bolero pickup truck falls in Dimna Lake ditch along Tata-Patamda road

Jamshedpur, March 26: Late on Friday night, a Bolero pickup vehicle fell in the ditch of Dimna Lake along the Tata-Patamda road. The pickup was loaded with straw. The driver’s whereabouts was not known. People came to know of the accident on Saturday morning and notified the police. A crane was requisitioned to pull out the Bolero pickup vehicle. Police have seized the vehicle.

According to reports on the accident, the Bolero was loaded with straw collected from Patamda or Bodam and proceeding towards Jamshedpur late on Friday night.

It was suspected that the driver had lost control of the vehicle that resulted in the accident.

It may be mentioned that the Tata-Patamda road that passes along the ditch is dangerous as it is prone to accidents. The road is sliced between a hill tract on one side and the Dimna Lake ditch. Locals have been demanding the construction of a wall along the dangerous two kilometer stretch along with widening of the road for safe travel but years have rolled but the demand continues to fall on deaf administrative ears.
