Jamshedpur, Jan 3: Jamshedpur BJP Mahanagar President Sudhanshu Ojha found himself in the midst of controversy on Friday following a social media post that angered the Sikh community. Ojha, who posted a statement about the tenth Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Gobind Singh, has since removed the post after facing widespread backlash from the community and even his own party members.
In the controversial post, Ojha wrote about “Chandi Di War,” a composition by Guru Gobind Singh, claiming it included verses related to Muslims. This statement sparked outrage among Sikh community members who denied the assertion. Arvinder Kaur, the social media in-charge of BJP Jugsalai, demanded that Ojha apologize directly for the post, stating that simply deleting it was insufficient.
Ojha defended his post, clarifying that the lines he had shared were incorrect, and he sought guidance from scholars about their authenticity. “The lines do not exist in any of our Granth Sahibs, and they have no place in Sikhism,” Ojha explained. “If I have made an error, I apologize. In the future, I will ensure that I verify any information related to Sikhism with experts, like the Granthi ji of any Gurudwara.”
Despite his removal of the post, the controversy continues, and members of the Sikh community remain dissatisfied. “An apology is necessary, not just the removal of the post,” Arvinder Kaur emphasized, urging Ojha to directly address the matter with the Sikh community.
