Jamshedpur, Jan 30: Biswajit Chatterjee of West Singhbhum won the 5th JCA Open Blitz Chess Tournament organised by Jamshedpur Chess Academy at Chamber Bhawan in Bistupur on Sunday.
Biswajit scored nine points to bag the first position and received Rs 10,000 as cash award along with a trophy.
Rohan Vijay Shandilya of East Singhbhum bagged the second position and was awarded cash prize of Rs 5,000
Harsh Kumar Jha of East Singhbhum was third in the tournament. He won cash award of Rs 4,000.
Raja Bose of Dhanbad was fourth, Singh Ankit K. of Seraikela-Kharsawan was fifth, Arpit Anand of Deoghar sixth, Krishnan Kundan of Garhwa seventh, Rajesh Kumar of West Singhbhum eight, Kamal Kishore Debnath of West Singbhum was placed ninth and Krishna Kumar Saw of Dhanbad was tenth. Players who bagged position in top 20 received cash awards.

Trophies were awarded to all 1st, 2nd & 3rd players in the age group from 7 to 15 years. Trophies were awarded to women above 40 years and men above 60 years and children below 11 years as consolation prizes.
IA Deepak Kumar, FA Prabhat Ranjan Kumar, FA Chandan Kumar Prasad, SNA Vinod Kumar Sahu, SNA Aman Choubey were present as arbiters.
Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by chief guest, Vinod Agarwal, Income Tax Commissioner of Jamshedpur.
Total prize money of Rs 55,550 was awarded to the players. Chief Guest during the closing ceremony was social worker and President of Deoghar District Chess Association Sunil Khawade.
130 players from across Jharkhand participated in the tournament.
Special Guests for the occasion were Harbhajan Singh, Senior Vice President, Jharkhand Olympic Association, Manav Kedia, General Secretary, Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce & Industry etc.
Prashant Singh President, Pradeep Mukherjee Vice President, Pritam Singh Secretary, Purbi Ghosh Treasurer, Amit Kumar Assistant Secretary, Manoj Kumar Pandey, Assistant Secretary, Chartered Accountant Vinod Saraiwala and Chartered Accountant Pankaj Kumar Agarwal of Jamshedpur Chess Academy were present.
