Jamshedpur Bengali community to protest against anti-Hindu violence in Bangladesh

Jamshedpur: In response to the escalating violence against Hindus in Bangladesh, including attacks on temples, murders, and sexual violence, the Bengali community in Jamshedpur is set to hold a torch procession. Under the banner of ‘All Bengali Clubs of Jamshedpur,’ the protest will take place on Saturday, August 17th, starting at 6:00 pm from Sakchi Netaji Subhash Maidan (Aambagan) and concluding at the Sakchi roundabout.

The decision to organize the protest was announced at a press conference held at Sakchi Bengal Club on Friday. The community is deeply troubled by the recent political upheaval in Bangladesh following the dissolution of Parliament and the resignation of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. This turmoil has reportedly led to increased atrocities against Hindu Bengalis, including violence, vandalism, and displacement.

The procession aims to draw attention to the dire situation facing Hindu minorities in Bangladesh and to urge both the Bangladeshi and Indian governments to take action to ensure their safety.
