Jamshedpur: Banna inspects Chhath ghats, issues directives for ensuring devotees’ convenience

Jamshedpur, Oct 28: Jharkhand Health and Disaster management Minister, Banna Gupta along with district officials inspected various Chhath ghats to ensure all safety measures were in place. He also inspected the various facilities for devotees at the river banks where they were to offer prayers at dusk and dawn to the Sun.

The Minister also inspected the Chhath Ghat at Neel Sarovar in Kadma where Banna Gupta and his family perform Chhath Puja. It may be mentioned that Banna Gupta along with his family has been performing the ast gami (setting sun)and uday man (sun rise) sun every year at the Neel Sarovar. 

Jharkhand Minister Banna Gupta said, “My family offers Arghya during Chhath every year. Like me ang my family, many district officials too ofer prayers to the Setting and rising sun and hence, they know what devotees require to enable them to offer Arghya without inconvenience. As such, I assure all devotees that the administration will leave no stone unturned to put all necessary requirements for offering prayers to the sun at dawn and the following dawn.”

Accompanied by district officials including JNAC and MMC, the Minister inspected several Chhath Ghats in the city and issued on-spot instructions to the Deputy Commissioner of East Singhbhum and other officials to see to it that facilities  like setting up adequate lighting arrangements, security provisions, repair of Chhath Ghats, leveling of roads leading to the river banks, sanitary arrangements, proper barricading along with marking out ‘danger zones’, leveling of pathways and roads to the river banks and installing of change rooms and spraying of disinfectants. Among other officials who accompanied the state Minister during the inspection drive were Executive Officer of MMC Suresh Yadav and and Special Officer on JNAC, Sanjay Kumar.

Banna Gupta assured fasting Chhath devotees that the administration will cater to the basic needs to ensure that the devotees could offer prayers without any hitch.
