Ranchi, June 4: In a significant political development, hundreds of leaders and workers from the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Congress party have joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) under the leadership of JMM Dalit Morcha East Singhbhum district president, Baldev Bhuiyan. The event took place at the BJP state office on Sunday and witnessed the presence of several prominent figures, including JMM’s candidate in Chhattarpur assembly constituency, Ravindra Raju, and former general secretary of East Singhbhum Congress Committee, Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi.

The gathering was also attended by Saroj Devi, a member of the Latehar Zila Parishad, among others. The welcome speech was delivered by Gunjan Yadav, the BJP Jamshedpur Metropolitan District President, and the vote of thanks was given by Mantu Charan Dutta, the Patamda Mandal President. State BJP president and MP, Deepak Prakash, warmly received the new members, adorning them with the party’s traditional patka and flower garlands. Prakash himself enrolled new members by dialing the dedicated membership hotline.

In his address, Deepak Prakash highlighted the disillusionment of tribal Dalit backward classes with the JMM-Congress-RJD alliance, referred to as the “Thugbandhan” parties. He criticized the alliance for deceiving the public and asserted that the BJP, as a worker-based party, is committed to alleviating the concerns of the labor force. Prakash emphasized the BJP’s commitment to empowering Dalit and tribal communities, recognizing the contributions of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution, and promoting the development of important sites associated with him.

Prakash lauded the Modi government’s dedication to the development of villages, the poor, Dalits, and other marginalized sections through programs like Antyodaya. He also highlighted the government’s proactive measures during the COVID-19 pandemic, such as administering over 210 crore vaccinations and providing free food grains to 80 crore people, which greatly alleviated the people’s suffering. Prakash accused the Hemant government of obstructing the realization of the Modi government’s vision.

Encouraging party workers, Prakash called for an active grassroots campaign to highlight the achievements of the Modi government and the failures of the state government. He expressed the determination and dedication of BJP workers to secure a third term for the Modi government and make India a global leader.

Expressing his reasons for joining the BJP, Baldev Bhuiyan stated that he was inspired by the thoughts, policies, and dedication of Prime Minister Narendra Modi towards the country. He expressed gratitude to state president and MP Deepak Prakash and the party’s leadership for welcoming him into the BJP. Bhuiyan emphasized that the BJP is the only party that genuinely cares about the dignity of workers. He pledged to put forth his utmost effort to ensure the victory of BJP candidates in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and asserted that the BJP’s voice would resonate strongly in the Kolhan region. Ravindra Raju, another prominent figure who joined the BJP, emphasized his commitment to serving Lord Ram, stating that the BJP provides the right platform for such endeavors. Gunjan Yadav, the Jamshedpur Metropolitan President, welcomed the new members and expressed confidence that Baldev Bhuiyan’s entry into the BJP would further strengthen the party in the Kolhan division. The event witnessed the presence of numerous attendees from Jamshedpur, Palamu, and other regions, including Sunil Singh Munda, Chanchal Chakraborty, Pradhan Chandra Mahato, and Shantanu Mukherjee.
