Jamshedpur auto driver duped by cyber fraud

Jamshedpur, Dec 20: Cyber fraudsters duped auto driver Shambhu Das, resident of Birsanagar Zone Number 3  of Rs 13,300.

A complaint has been lodged at Birsanagar police station in which the auto-driver has said that he saw an advertisement on the internet media which talked about the sale of scooty. The price was written Rs 12,500. Contact numbers were also given. He called on the contact number on December 17. The person who picked up the phone identified himself as an armyman and that he has been transferred to another place. Because of this he has to sell scooty.

The auto driver fixed the deal for Rs 12,000. The soldier asked to send Rs 1001 to his account on the first day. After this said that the rest of the money should be sent on the second day. On December 18, he sent Rs 6150 to his account twice. Despite this, he started demanding Rs 9,500 as GST which will be charged separately. Only then will he be able to send the vehicle. Transfer documents will also have to be made.

This conversation took place between the two on Sunday wherein the person said that he would be coming to Golmuri  with the vehicle. However,  nobody came with the vehicle. Shambhu told that he felt that he had become a victim of fraud. At present the police is probing the matter.
