Jamshedpur: The Divisional Level Cooperative Maha Sammelan was held today at Ravindra Bhawan auditorium in Sakchi, with the Minister of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperative Department, Deepika Pandey Singh, gracing the event as the chief guest. The gathering was also attended by prominent figures including MLA Mangal Kalindi from Jugsalai, MLA Sanjeev Sardar from Potka, MLA Sameer Mohanty from Baharagora, Registrar Cooperative Society Suraj Kumar, Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar, PD ITDA Dipankar Chaudhary, as well as district cooperative officers and managing directors of various cooperative unions.

During the event, Minister Deepika Pandey Singh distributed assets valued at more than ₹4.85 crore among 94 beneficiaries and committees from three districts. The distributed assets included Sustainable Harvesting Tool Kits, Lac Scraper cum Crusher Machines under the Post-Harvest Management Scheme, Micro ATMs, Mobile Vending Carts, Ice Boxes for Matsya Jeevi Sahayak Samiti, Tana Nets, and Electronic Balances. This initiative aims to support and enhance the capabilities of local farmers and cooperative societies.
In her address, Minister Singh emphasized the government’s commitment to empowering farmers and cooperative societies. She encouraged beneficiaries to utilize government schemes, assuring them of the state’s full support. “The government is working tirelessly in every direction to support farmers, whether it be through the purchase and sale of their products, providing equipment, or waiving agricultural loans,” she said. The Minister also highlighted ongoing efforts to construct 100 MT and 500 MT warehouses across the state to ensure the safe storage of grains and urged farmers to apply for crop insurance benefits by August 31.
MLA Sanjeev Sardar from Potka reiterated the government’s focus on empowering farmers by promoting agriculture, animal husbandry, and horticulture alongside other businesses. He emphasized the use of advanced products and new technology to bring economic prosperity to the farming community.
MLA Sameer Mohanty from Baharagora spoke about the various government schemes aimed at uplifting all sections of society, particularly farmers. He stressed the importance of ensuring farmers receive fair prices for their products and are made aware of new agricultural techniques, promoting women’s self-reliance and economic prosperity as key priorities of the state government.
MLA Mangal Kalindi from Jugsalai highlighted the potential of cooperation as a powerful tool to fulfill the aspirations of farmers. He called for transparency and honesty in implementing cooperative initiatives to ensure their effectiveness and reach.
During the event, citations were awarded to LAMPS, PACS, Special Cooperative Committees, and Cooperative Extension Officers, as well as Senior Audit Officers, for their exceptional contributions and exemplary work in their respective fields.
