Jamshedpur Agnipath protest: Eight arrested from Telco Stadium

Jamshedpur, July 14: Tatanagar RPF here on Thursday arrested eight youths who allegedly blocked rail traffic near Jugsalai railway level crossing to protest against Centre’s Agnipath scheme on 17^th June last. The accused persons were arrested from Telco Stadium, sources said.

Sources claimed that several influential people including senior bureaucrats were trying to ensure release of the accused persons. Pressure is mounting on the RPF authorities to release the youths instead of sending them into judicial custody. Police said the youths were arrested on the basis of CCTV footage obtained from the area adjoining the protest venue.
