Jamshedpur, July 14: East Singhbhum district administration launched an anti-encroachment drive near Sakchi roundabout on Thursday. Tata Steel UISL teams assisted the administration in removing encroachment from the roundabout to Sakchi bus stand and footpaths near the mosque. Several dozen shops and temporary structures were removed by the teams.

A no-parking hoarding installed near the roundabout was also removed. According to JNAC City Manager Ravi Bharati, the hoarding was not installed by the JNAC. The campaign sent the roadside vendors and traders scampering for a safer shelter.

JNAC Special Officer Krishna Kumar appealed to vendors and other traders against encroaching the footpath and roads in the larger interest of the citizens. He said the anti-encroachment campaign would continue in the coming days.
