Jamshedpur, March 16: Members of District Bar Association (DBA), Jamshedpur, went on strike here on Wednesday to protest against lodging of FIR against five advocates at Birsanagar police station.
The advocates stalled today’s work and joined agitation, demanding proper investigation into the matter. They said the police had registered FIR against DBA secretary Anil Kumar Tiwary, Virendra Singh, Virat Singh, Pushpa and one more person on the complaint of one Puja Das.
Tiwary said police had registered the complaint without conducting any inquiry. He said the police should have first tried to find out the truth. He said mechanical lodging of FIR was not right.
Sources said Puja Das lodged the police complaint after she was turned out of the court premises by some advocates on 22nd January last.
