Jamshedpur Advocates boycott work

Jamshedpur: After the deadly attack on the office clerk of ADJ One by entering the Jamshedpur Court premises on Friday, the advocates have announced a one-day work boycott on Saturday.

On Saturday, the advocates of Jamshedpur Court kept themselves away from judicial work. During this period, no hearing took place in the court.

The District Bar Association adhoc committee has also submitted a demand letter to the District Judge condemning the incident. Through the letter of demand, the adhoc committee has demanded to increase the security in the court. Tapas Mitra, a member of the adhoc committee, told that this is not the first time such an incident has happened in the court. Many incidents have happened before this also. No security personnel is present in the court premises after five o’clock whereas work in the court happens till 8 pm. Today there has been an attack on the court personnel, tomorrow it may happen on the advocates as well.
