‘Bengal Win Is Victory of North Indians,’ says Jamshedpur Advocate

Jamshedpur: The “unity of North Indians” secured the Bharatiya Janata Party’s victory and the All India Trinamool Congress’s defeat in the recent West Bengal elections, said advocate Sudhir Kumar Pappu.

End of “Dual Approach” Narratives

Addressing the media in Jamshedpur, Pappu argued that since 1977, both the Left Front and the Trinamool Congress treated people from northern states with a partisan approach. He alleged that these governments often labelled North Indians as outsiders or oppressors despite their vital role in the state’s economic and industrial success.

Pappu highlighted specific contributions from various communities:

  • Trade and Capital: Residents from Haryana and Rajasthan contributed significantly to West Bengal’s trade sectors.
  • Workforce Support: People from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh provided the essential labor that fuelled industrial growth.

Consolidation Against Regionalism

The advocate stated that North Indian voters have finally consolidated to challenge decades of political sidelining. He noted that this collective unity directly confronted “pseudo-regionalism” and the dominance of identity-based politics.

Pappu added that these results offer a stern lesson to regional parties that promote divisive sentiments. He urged political leaders to preserve India’s “unity in diversity” and warned against strategies that threaten social cohesion.
