Jamshedpur advocate demands removal of Gurcharan Singh Billa until police investigation is completed

Jamshedpur: National President of Qaumi Sikh Morcha, Advocate Kulwinder Singh, has urged the Senior Superintendent of Police to conduct an independent investigation into the case of Gurcharan Singh Billa, a resident of Basti No. 10. Additionally, he has appealed to Bhagwan Singh, the head of the Central Gurdwara Management Committee, to remove Billa from his position until he is proven innocent.

“If Bhagwan Singh is truly clean and does not engage in criminal politics, he should immediately remove Gurcharan Singh Billa from any position in the Central Gurdwara Management Committee or any local gurdwara committee,” Kulwinder Singh stated.

He further alleged that Bhagwan Singh cannot function without criminals and pointed out that Billa had previously been convicted and sentenced to five years in prison by a Punjab court for possessing an AK-47 rifle, a magazine and a walkie-talkie.

Kulwinder Singh also referred to a recent case registered at the Sidgora police station (Case No. 41/2025), in which Gurcharan Singh Billa is named as an accused. He claimed that criminals arrested in the case have stated that pistols were hidden in a sack of sand at Billa’s garage on his orders.

He raised concerns about the growing criminal influence in gurdwara politics and questioned Bhagwan Singh’s decision to appoint Billa as general secretary. “The Sikh community and the district administration have the right to know what makes Billa so special that Bhagwan Singh continues to support him,” he remarked.

Singh also pointed out that while Bhagwan Singh publicly promotes Sikh wisdom classes, “at night, pistols are being hidden under sacks of sand.”
