Jamshedpur: Accused in Billion-Rupee GST Scam granted bail

Jamshedpur, April 29: Shiva Debra, a Kolkata resident and industrialist accused in a GST scam amounting to Rs 1.31.12 crore, has been granted bail by the court of Special Judge Economic Offenses, Saudamani Singh. The bail was granted under Section 167(2) of CrPC due to the non-submission of the charge sheet to the court by the Union of India Intelligence (GST) within 60 days.

The case against Shiva Debra was registered based on the statement of Union of India Intelligence Officer GST, Dinesh Kumar, alleging a GST scam of Rs 1.31.12 crore. It was alleged that Debra had conducted fraudulent GST activities by operating under the guise of a fake factory, potentially involving scams worth crores of rupees.
