Jamshedpur Accident: One dead, eight injured in road mishap near Chowka

Jamshedpur, Sep 4: One person died while eight others got seriously injured when an SUV rammed into the railing of an over-bridge near Chowka on Sunday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Santosh Pramanik. The injured were identified as Sumitra Devi, Kamini Guru Bahan, Saraswati Devi, Ganga Guru Bahan, Kaushalya Devi, Saroj Devi, Parvati Devi and Sangeeta Devi. They were taken to MGM Hospital where three of them were referred to Tata Main Hospital for better treatment.

Sources said the vehicle was on its way from Jamshedpur to Ranchi, carrying the passengers to see Harendranath, founder of Shiv Charcha who died of heart attack this morning. Sources said the SUV was moving at high speed. The driver could not see a block on the over-bridge and turned the vehicle to the left side, causing it to collide with the railing and hang from it.
