MLA honours 94 city teachers on Teachers’ Day eve

Jamshedpur, Sep 4: Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy felicitated as many as 94 teachers of government, minority and private schools of the city for outstanding work in the field of education on the eve of National Teachers’ Day.
A function was organized at Baridih Recreation Club. District Education Officer Nirmala Barelia, District Superintendent of Education Nishu Kumari and the Principal of ABM College, Golmuri, Dr Mudita Chandra were present as special guests on this occasion.
Addressing the gathering as chief guest, Roy said people should honour schools and teachers in the same way as they honour temples. He said the glory and dignity of teachers should be preserved and protected at every cost. He said the district administration officials concerned should discharge their duties well in the larger interest of education system. He said the teachers of government, minority and private schools worked under tough situations braving many new challenges. He said efforts should be made to change the popular image of government schools so that more and more people get their wards admitted to such schools.
Dr Mundita Chandra said teachers give direction to society and play an important role in shaping its future. She stressed on discipline among students and a better academic environment in society. National Award winner teachers Dr Anita Sharma, Manoj Kumar Singh and Anju Kumari were also felicitated at today’s function
