Jamshedpur, Sep 11: Tragedy struck as three people were killed and one was seriously injured in a road mishap near Ghatdulmi valley on Chowka-Kandra road under Chowka police station area. The accident took place today morning when a car collided with a bus.
Those dead were identified as Sameer Ansari of Tiruldih village of Kukdu in Seraikela-Kharsawan district, Reshma Khatoon of Gaurangkocha village of Ichagarh and Reshma’s husband Feroze Ansari. Reshma’s four-year-old son Niyaz Ansari has also suffered injuries. In the incident, the four-year-old son of the couple sustained serious injuries and has been admitted to TMH Jamshedpur.
According to the information received, there was a head-on collision between the bus heading from Chaibasa to Ranchi and the Swift car moving from Chowka to Jagannathpur in Ghatdulmi valley. In this collision, the Swift car blew up and two people died on the spot itself.
After the incident, local villagers reached and pulled out the people trapped in the car. On receiving the information, Chowka police reached the spot and sent the injured to Chandil Community Health Center for treatment. The bus has been confiscated by the police.
Police said that the bus was going towards Ranchi while the car was travelling towards Jaggannathpur when the head-on collision took place.
The bus driver fled from the spot leaving the vehicle behind. Later the bodies were sent for postmortem.
