Jamshedpur: 2 arrested in Deepak Kumar murder case

Jamshedpur, April 11: Deepak Kumar, who was shot on March 10 in Kumharpada under Sonari police station, died during treatment in Kolkata.

After the incident, he was admitted to TMH for treatment. From there the relatives took him to Kolkata for better treatment. In this case, the police had arrested two accused. The arrested accused included Navneet Kumar alias Loha and Akshay Singh alias Bala of Bhojpur district of Bihar. The police had arrested both of them from Arrah. However, in this case, the police have not been able to arrest the other accused including the mastermind.

Deepak got his cousin Rohit Singh, a resident of Arrah, married in the year 2019 to a girl resident of Baridih. However, after a few months, the girl separated from Rohit. Rohit was looking for an opportunity regarding this matter. Deepak and Rohit often used to use abusive language on the phone. A month before the incident, Rohit had given contract to Akshay Singh alias Bala to kill Deepak for three lakh rupees.

Akshay chose Navneet and two others for this job. On March 9, a day after Holi, all the shooters had reached the city and on the second day itself, on March 10, after getting an opportunity, fired at Deepak and fled the city the same night. Rohit had also given Rs 1.50 lakh for this work.
