Jamshedpur, Nov 20: The Jambu Akhara Committee has announced that all preparations are underway for a community wedding ceremony for five selected couples on November 23, 2025. Committee patron Bunty Singh shared the details during a press conference held at the Akhara premises. Applications from interested couples were accepted until November 1, following which family consent was verified, affidavits were prepared and mandatory medical tests—including HIV and CBC—were conducted for all selected pairs.
The five couples selected for the ceremony are: Anshu Karua of Haludbani and Priyanka Munda of Makdampur; Prasannjeet Nath of Chota Govindpur and Sita Gosai of Sarjamda; Avinash Kalindi of East Plant Basti and Trisha Kalindi of Ulidih; Sunny Machhua of Sarjamda and Ganga Machhua of Chota Govindpur; and Somnath of Chota Govindpur and Mamta Gosai of Sarjamda. A traditional mehendi ceremony for all brides will take place on November 21 at 6:30 pm.
On November 23, the wedding procession will begin at 11 am from Rohan Akhara (Harijan School Ground) and proceed to the Jambu Akhara campus, where the Jaimala and wedding rituals will be performed by five priests following Hindu traditions. The organisers have arranged community meals for approximately 1,000 guests. Invitations have been extended to ministers, MLAs, former governors, MPs, administrative officials, social leaders and other dignitaries, with entry permitted strictly through invitation cards.
More than 100 volunteers from the Jambu Akhara Committee will manage the event. Committee members including Ranbir Mandal, Madhusudan Goswami, Brij Kishore, Anil Sharma, Rohit Singh and several others were present at the press conference.
