Jal Abhishek of Baba at Sakchi Bazaar Shiv Mandir with holy Ganga water from Sultanganj

Jamshedpur, July 11: A special Jal Abhishek ritual oh Baba Bholenath was organized at the Sakchi Shiv Mandir on Tuesday July 11 on the auspicious month of Sawan. This was the second consecutive year when Lord Shiva was bathed with the sacred waters of the Ganges River brought from Sultanganj. The event was organized by Lalchand Agarwal and Bablu Agarwal of the Shiv Temple Committee in memory of their late father, Vinod Kumar Agarwal. Hundreds of devotees participated in the ceremony and performed the Jal Abhishek ritual of Lord Bholenath with holy Ganga water brought from Sultanganj.

The prayer rituals commenced at 10 am with the worship of Lord Shiva, followed by the special Jal Abhishek at 1 pm during which the deity was bathed with Ganges water brought in by tankers from Sultanganj.

Lord Shiva was attractively adorned with a variety of flowers. Aarti was performed at 5 pm. On conclusion of Baba’s puja and Aarti, Prasad (consecrated food) was distributed among all devotees and visitors at the Sakchi Bazaar Shiv Mandir.

 Throughout the day, the temple resonated with chants of ‘Om Namah Shivaya,’ ‘Jai-Jai Bholenath’ and ‘Har-Har Mahadev.’ The entire area in and around the Shiv Mandir permeated with an air of spirituality while devotees continued to throng the temple premises. The prayers and related rituals were performed by a team of 21 experienced priests under the supervision of Pandit Mulchand Sharma.

Free Distribution of Ganges Water

 The organizers distributed Ganga Jal free of cost in 1,000 one litre bottles among devotees. Many among the devotees carried the sacred water home in jars and larger containers. The Agarwal family, Sakchi Shiv Mandir committee and shopkeepers made significant contribution towards the successful organization of this big, religious event. Those present during the special Sawan Puja at the Sakchi Shri-Shri Shiv Mandir included Umesh Shah, Vijay Anand Moonka, Shankar Singhal, Mukesh Mittal, Sandeep Murarka, Kamal Kishore Agarwal, Girdhari Khemka, Bajrang Lal Agarwal, Sanwarmal Agarwal, Abhishek Agarwal (Goldie), Pankaj Chhavchharia, Lalit Danga, Murari Lal Agarwal, Mahavir Agarwal, Mohit Moonka, Vishnu Goyal, Prashant Agarwal, Sunny Sanghi and Ashish Khanna.
