ITI at Tamar and Jagannathpur shaping future of youth

Jamshedpur, Nov 17: Industrial training is one of the long demands of the youths around the business areas of Tata steel. The technical training for first generation among tribal & local community is necessary for nation progress and also it will work to develop the community to become more inclusive. The work force around Jharkhand is not considered as technical sound as there is lack of educational infrastructure for higher education especially Skill education which is more focused towards making youths more employable

Traditionally, ITI courses have been very popular among the students, especially from rural areas, as they provide courses that focus on skill development. Students who walk out of ITIs are skilled professionals, either in the Engineering or Non-Engineering trades.

ITI Tamar was established in 2012 with Public private Partnership (PPP) with Govt. of Jharkhand and Tata Steel Skill Development Society at Tamar in Ranchi District. The trades continues at ITI are Electrical, Fitter, Turner and Welder.

Geographical Coverage – As of now, trainees from all nearby villages of Tamar, Bundu, khunti  & east singhbhum covering approx. 18 blocks are getting benefited from this esteemed organization. However, trainees from all over Jharkhand use to get admitted for their bright future. Of the 399 enrolment 383 have been placed. 

ITI-Tamar trainees also got placement in Hongkong at VSC Steel Solutions Pvt Ltd. Our 11 trainees from Fitter & Electrician trades are successfully working at Hongkong with a salary of 1.6 lacs per month. 15 more trainees are in cleared the initial screening level for FY-22.

Sanjay Giri, son of a tobacco seller at Salgadih village, took admission in our college in 2017 with the help of a school teacher.

The team did the regular counselling of this boy & his family and insisted him to be regular in the training which ultimately will help him to get out of this condition and he did the same.

Finally, he did well in the final examination with 72% marks and got selected in VSC Steel Solutions Pvt Ltd, Hongkong. As of now, he is earning INR 1,60,000/- per month.(19 lacs per annum). Sushati Tudu, a female trainee from Turner trade from Tamar block in Ranchi District was the first female trainee to take admission in Turner trade which usually not happened in Industrial training. She successfully completed the course with 70% marks and got selected in Kyocera CTC Precision tools Pvt Ltd in quality department. She worked hard during training and successfully got placement in Heavy Industries with an annual income of 1.68 lacs per annum.

ITI Jagannathpur was established in 2017 with government of Jharkhand in Public Private Partnership (PPP) with Tata Steel Skill development Society at Jagannathpur in West Singhbhum District.

Of the 524 enrolment 137 have been placed and placement is still going on.

Komal Sharma is one of successful candidate from Noamundi block in West Singhbhum. She is from very weak social economic background and selected in ITI Jagannathpur in electrical trade.

After completion she got placement in Tata Electronics, Hour Plant as operator in production unit on rolls of Tata Electronics with an annual CTC of rs. 2.2 lacs per annum.

Sursingh laguri  is another candidate selected in RKFL limited ,Dugni Jamshedpur after successful completion of two year course at ITI Jagannathpur and getting salary 1.9 lacs per annum. He is from Maluka village of Jagannathpur block.

Hindalco a unit of Aditya Birla Group selected nine candidates from ITI Jaganathpur and all are successfully got placement despite Covid lockdown with an annual package of 2 lacs per annum. The candidates successfully completed training in fitter and turner trade and from Noamundi, Jagannathpur and local blocks of Kolhan region.
