I am not involved in Anil Gopes killing: Arvind Singh

Jamshedpur: The MLA of Ichagarh Arvind Singh today said he was not involved in the murder of Bharatiya Janata Party leader of Chandil Anil Gope.

He said he was being implicated in the murder case and demanded a high level and fair probe into the incident.

Speaking to scribes on Saturday, Singh said Gope was a party in a land dispute for the past many days. Several meetings were held at Bangmundi police station of West Bengal earlier in connection with the dispute. It is possible that Anil Gope was killed as a result of the land dispute, said the legislator.

The former president of Kukru block committee of BJP, Gope was shot dead by unidentified assailants yesterday morning. He was a resident of Choura in Tiruldih police station area.

An FIR was lodged in this connection by the relatives of the deceased against the Ichagarh MLA with the Bangmundi police station for his alleged involvement in the conspiracy.

Singh said a conspiracy was in the offing to implicate him in the case. He said he was the legislator of Ichagarh and was preparing for the Assembly elections. He said a high level probe into the murder case could reveal the truth.

Police have booked me falsely and are just beating around the bush in order to give undue benefits to the real culprits. I am not afraid of such conspiracy.

I will not let the police walk away so easily after leveling false charges on me till justice is done in this case and the culprits are arrested, said the MLA.

The MLA said the prime accused in the case were criminals and were involved in several crimes earlier.
