Future Teachers must uphold values, contribute to society: Bhanumathi Neelkanthan
Jamshedpur, Nov 20: An introduction session for the newly enrolled B.Ed. students of the 2024-26 batch was held today at DBMS College of Education. The event was inaugurated by Bhanumathi Neelkanthan, Patron of DBMS Trust in presence of B. Chandrashekhar, President, Lalita Chandrashekhar, Secretary Sripriya Dharmarajan, Joint Secretary Sudha Dilip, Governing Body Secretary Satish Singh, College Management Committee member Padma Shiva, Principal Dr. Juhi Samarpita, and Vice Principal Dr. Monica Uppal.

In her address, Bhanumathi Neelkanthan reminded the students that as future teachers, it is essential to uphold values and work towards the betterment of society and the country. President B. Chandrashekhar emphasized the importance of striving for education, which would allow students to contribute to society with their knowledge. College Secretary Mrs. Sripriya Dharmarajan expressed pride in the college’s dedicated staff, highlighting the hard work of the faculty and non-teaching staff that leads to consistent 100% results.
Principal Dr. Juhi Samarpita spoke about the college’s mission and vision, stressing the pivotal role teachers play in the country’s development. She also mentioned the college’s commitment to providing quality education. The session included an overview of the management committee, teaching, and non-teaching staff, presented by Assistant Professor Mrs. Pamela Ghosh Dutta.
Vice-Principal Dr. Monica Uppal outlined the college’s rules and regulations. Alumni members D. Komal, Suyasha, Ankita Kumari, and Chandramani, along with teacher Mrs. Archana Kumari, shared their experiences and alumni activities through a PPT presentation. Ms. Kajal Mahato and Angel Munda informed the students about the library rules. Dr. Surina Bhullar Singh discussed the importance of value-based education, while other faculty members gave insights into various clubs and activities at the college, including the Social Science, Literary, Eco, Science, and Maths clubs.
The event began with a Ganesh Vandana by Mrs. Amrita Chaudhary. The program was made successful by the efforts of Mrs. Anjali Ganesan, Sudeep Pramanik, Abhijit Dey, Lalit Kishore, Birendra Pandey, and Julian Anthony.
