Jamshedpur: Karim City College, Sakchi, Jamshedpur’s literary and cultural organization ‘SPARK’ (Society for Promotion of Art and Culture) and IQAC jointly organized a program on International Mother Language Day. On this occasion, a meeting was organized in the college auditorium which was presided over by Principal Dr. Mohammad Reyaz and representing languages like Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Odia and English, Dr. Firoz Alam, Prof. Mohammad Isa, Dr. BN Tripathi, Dr. Anupam Mishra and Dr. Basudhara Rai expressed their views on the importance of different languages and mother tongues. On this occasion, Ipsida Ankit Umme Habiba, Sushant and Ayesha Firdaus presented poems of famous poets in different languages. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Mohammad Reyaz addressed the gathering and said that today we are celebrating International Mother Language Day. Its purpose is to protect and promote our mother tongues because our culture resides in these mother tongues.
The meeting was conducted by Adrija Malik and the vote of thanks was given by Prof. A.K. Das. Apart from the college secretary Dr. Mohammad Zakaria, SPARK coordinator Dr. Yahya Ibrahim, Dr. Iftikhar Nabi, Dr. Firoz Ibrahimi, Dr. Indrasen Singh, Dr. Kausar Tasneem, Dr. Tufail Ahmed and Major Dr. Fakhruddin Ahmed, many teachers and a large number of students were present in this meeting.
