Jamshedpur, July 21: International Chess Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm jointly by executive members of Saraikela-Kharsawan District Chess Association and East Singhbhum District Chess Association. The event took place under the auspices of Tata Chess Center at JRD Tata Sports Complex on July 20.
Mukul Vinayak Choudhary, Chief Sports Excellence Centres, TFA & Sports graced the occasion and extended heartfelt congratulations to all the young chess enthusiasts on the occasion of International Chess Day. He also shared valuable information about the upcoming Asian Junior Chess Championship scheduled for September.

Addressing the gathering, Manoj Kumar, President of Saraikela-Kharswan District Chess Association, enlightened the children about the virtues of chess and motivated them to participate in the Under-9 National Championship, which is set to take place in November.
The entire program was coordinated by NK Tiwari, Secretary of East Singhbhum District Chess Association while Chess coach Jayant Kumar Bhuyan extended vote of thanks.
Also present were Chess coach Chandan Kumar Prasad, Vice President of Saraikela Kharsawan District Chess Association Binod Singh, along with Raju Chaudhary, Raj Kumar Singh, and Patron Rajib Verma.
The event was also graced by Secretary Ajay Kumar, Joint Secretary Abhishek Sharma, and Treasurer Vikram Kumar. Members including Sumit Kumar, Chandan Kumar Prasad, and Soukhin Pramanik were also present, adding to the success and significance of the celebration.
The event served as a platform to foster the love for chess among the young minds and encouraged their active participation in upcoming chess tournaments, thus promising a bright future for the sport in the region.
