Jamshedpur, July 21: Little Flower School (LFS) students had a day off from textbooks and notebooks on Wednesday as Bagless Day. The initiatives aimed to inculcate self-learning approaches and to add more colour to students learning by training them.
The Bagless Day venture was part of the Social Studies Project on Sources of History.

History tells about the past and the past is appealing. There are four main sources of history: coins, artefacts and monuments, written material and oral sources.
150 students of class 4 from Little Flower School went to the Coin Museum in Sakchi to gather information and also learn about the eras, minting modes and other facets through coins on display at the museum.

The pupils who were guided by their class teachers, Sumy Barun, Nirmala Bhagat and Sudipta Dey learnt a great deal about the ancient rulers and their reigns, the system of trade, the languages used and the value of currency.
After the informative trip, the students are preparing for an exhibition to showcase their old coins and artefacts and share some worthy facts.
