Instruction to speed up revenue collection

Jamshedpur, August 22: Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri has directed all the concerned departments to collect revenue as per the target in the review meeting held at Collectorate.

He inquired about the revenue received by the government from internal resources. Reviewing department-wise revenue works, directed the concerned departments to speed up revenue collection, so that revenue collection can be done as per the set target.

In the meeting, information about the efforts being made for revenue collection was also taken from all the departmental officials. Show cause was given to the Inspector of Weights and Measures for being absent from the meeting.

Against the annual target of revenue collection so far in four months, 26 percent has been collected by the state tax urban zone, Jamshedpur zone 32 percent, Singhbhum zone 28 percent, Adityapur zone 27 percent, Product department 29 percent, Mining department 7 percent, Agriculture department 54 percent.

While in the municipal bodies, JNAC has achieved 24 percent, Mango Municipal Corporation 55 percent, Jugsalai Municipal Council 59 percent, Chakulia Nagar Panchayat 47 percent.

On the other hand, Electricity Division Jamshedpur has collected 47 percent revenue, Electricity Division Mango 42 percent, Electricity Division Ghatshila 40 percent. All the departments were instructed to collect 100 percent revenue month by month as per the target fixed annually.
