Seraikela. August 22: A one-day orientation-cum-training workshop for child welfare police officers was organized at Seraikela district collectorate.
The workshop was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla and Superintendent of Police Dr. Vimal Kumar.
Detailed information was given about the JJ Act by the Deputy Superintendent of Police Headquarters and the POCSO Act by Kumar Kranti Prasad, secretary, District Legal Services Authority.
Deputy Commissioner said that utilizing the time in the training workshop, understand the provisions of the Act so that children can be helped. The Deputy Commissioner asked to follow the protocol under the Child Rights Act on crimes committed by children and atrocities on children.
SP Dr Vimal Kumar gave information on JJ Act and POCSO Act, it was told that concrete steps are being taken by the government to completely curb the incidents of sexual exploitation and molestation of children.
“We should teach our children the identity of good and bad touch from the family itself,” said Dr Vimal Kumar.
In the program everyone was informed about child helpline number 1098 by the District Child Protection Officer. And it was said that information can be given by contacting Child Welfare Committee, District Child Protection Unit and Child Helpline number 1098, if any incident happens in relation to children.
