Institutional delivery up by 11 percent in Jharkhand

Ranchi, Sept. 3: Chief Secretary Raj Bala Verma has directed civil surgeons and DSWOs of all districts to ensure deputation of staff for purchasing delivery equipments for health sub-centers.

She said that by 15th September, these facilities should be made available in all health sub-centers. She said it while directing Welfare and Health Department officers, civil surgeons and DSWOs of all districts through video conferencing.

Verma said that third ANC should be brought on the same level of first ANC and institutional delivery in all health sub-centers should be provided accordingly.

Health sub-centers without ANMs should be posted with one along with providing delivery table. As targeted, at least 3 deliveries should be done every month in every health sub-centers. She said that as per the Prime Minister Maternity Protection Scheme, all pregnant women should undergo ANC and monthly check up every month.

There should be balance between 1st and 3rd ANC. She said that it is a matter of concern to observe that the 3rd ANC decreases in comparison to the 1st. She asked all concerned people to be on alert mode and those sevikas, sahiyas and CDPOs who show slackness will be considered for action.

The CS said that all ANMs, sahiyas should identify malnourished children and help them get the help provided by the Health Department.

She directed to update MCTS data and conduct conference of anganwadi sevikas, shiyas to increase people�s knowledge about health centers. Where immunization work is incomplete, it should be done on mission mode.

Additional Chief Secretary of the department K Vidyasagar directed to hold health checkup camps and distribute ORS to help people protect themselves from diseases like dengue, chicken guinea and diarrhea. She said that no one should die from snake bite and medicines should be provided on all health centers.

It was directed in the meeting to take action on the CDPOs, MOICs, sahiyas and anganwadi sevikas showing slackness in their work. Health camps should be held in all panchayats with a view to ANC, dental and eyes checkup. Cent percent bed occupancy should be observed in all hospitals.

Additional Chief Secretary, Health K Vidyasagar, Director, NRHM Amitabh Kaushal and other officers were present in the meeting.
