Institution of Engineers Jamshedpur to host seminar on innovation & technology in manufacturing for Steel Industry

 Two day seminar at SNTI from Nov 27

Jamshedpur, Nov 23: The Institution of Engineers (India) (IEI) will host a two-day All India Seminar in Jamshedpur on November 27-28, 2023 at The Shavak Nanavati Technical Institute (SNTI), Jamshedpur. The event is being organised by the Institution of Engineers (India) Jamshedpur Local Centre in association with Tata Steel. The theme of the seminar will be Innovation & Technology Inclusion Program in Manufacturing and Asset Management for Steel Industry, said Probal Ghosh, Vice President (Shared Services), Tata Steel.

This seminar has garnered interest form several industries and academia, government organisations like ISRO, Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA), Institutions like IITs and NITs and from major steel companies like SAIL, Arcelor Mittal, JSW, JSPL and Vizag Steel among others.

Addressing a press meet at United Club on Wednesday, Tata Steel VP informed that some of the major OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturer) like ABB, PAMA, Artha Wear Tech, Parker & Grip Strapping Technologies Pvt Ltd etc & over 60 vendor partners will also be exhibiting their products and services related to the theme of the seminar in addition to the technical sessions which will be organised during the two-day event.

Sharad Sharma, General Manager, Tata Growth Shop said, this event will help in cross learning between industries and help academia identify the opportunities and challenges to work upon in their research facilities.  Around 300 delegates are expected to attend the seminar and deliberate over the challenges, opportunities, and improvements.

A technical exhibition will also be organized during the seminar to highlight the advantage of manufacturing led growth in industries.

Also present at the press meet were Anurag Saxena, Chief of Electrical Maintenance, Tata Steel and Shanti Das Bhattacharjee, Honorary Secretary, The Institution of Engineers (India).
