Seraikela, Oct 14: Bagless Day, a unique initiative, was held for the first time in numerous schools across the Seraikela block on Saturday.
Seraikela Block Program Officer, Rabikant Bhakat, said that on this day, school children left their school bags at home, venturing to school unencumbered by textbooks and notebooks.
The eager young minds wholeheartedly engaged in diverse activities designed to equip them with valuable life skills and promote holistic development. Bagless Day encouraged students to tackle real-life situations with confidence and creativity, fostering a well-rounded approach to learning.
During this event, students participated in a wide array of activities that extended beyond conventional academic subjects, drawing inspiration from nature, their surroundings, and their own imaginative faculties.
Notably, at the Upgraded Middle School in Mahadevpur, students showcased their creative talents by crafting a variety of charming and practical toys through the medium of clay art.
Teachers emphasized that Bagless Day aims to provide children with enriched learning opportunities, allowing them to explore their interests and talents freely. It is a student-driven initiative, where the children themselves proposed the concept of Bagless Day.
They expressed a keen desire to interact with craftsmen, potters, sculptors, and other artisans, seeking to understand their craft and lifestyle.
School Principal Smita Srivastava extolled the program’s significance, recognizing it as a pivotal step in nurturing the cultural and all-round development of the students.
