IMD predicts rain for Jamshedpur on Thursday

Ranchi/Jamshedpur, May 8: Heavy rains across Jharkhand, including the Kolhan region, provided relief from the scorching heat on Tuesday. The downpour led to a significant drop in temperatures across the state, with none of the districts recording temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius. No heat wave conditions were reported.

On Wednesday, the highest maximum temperature of 38.6 degrees Celsius was recorded in Daltonganj. Jamshedpur experienced a maximum temperature of 34.5 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 19.2 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, West Singhbhum recorded a temperature of 38 degrees Celsius, and Seraikela registered 36.3 degrees Celsius.

A forecast for rain and thunderstorms has been issued for West Singhbhum, East Singhbhum, Seraikela Kharsawan, and other districts over the next few hours, with wind speeds expected to range from 30-40 km per hour. Residents have been urged to stay cautious during thunderstorms and heavy rain, avoiding shelter under trees or near electric poles.

The weather department predicted further rain on Thursday in Jamshedpur, with wind speeds ranging from 40-50 km per hour.

Maximum temperatures recorded across various districts on Wednesday included Ranchi: 33.8 degrees Celsius, Jamshedpur: 34.5 degrees Celsius, Daltonganj: 38.6 degrees Celsius, Bokaro: 32.2 degrees Celsius, Chatra: 33.9 degrees Celsius, Deoghar: 33.8 degrees Celsius, Dhanbad: 31.5 degrees Celsius, Giridih: 33.5 degrees Celsius, Godda: 33.6 degrees Celsius, Gumla: 37 degrees Celsius, Hazaribagh: 32.2 degrees Celsius, Jamtara: 33.9 degrees Celsius, Khunti: 34.9 degrees Celsius, Latehar: 34.9 degrees Celsius, Lohardaga: 36 degrees Celsius, Pakur: 31.8 degrees Celsius, Palamu: 38.2 degrees Celsius, Ramgarh: 31.2 degrees Celsius, Seraikela: 36.3 degrees Celsius, Sahebganj: 32.2 degrees Celsius, Simdega: 35.7 degrees Celsius and West Singhbhum: 38 degrees Celsius
