Jamshedpur, Sep 5: A meeting of the Jamshedpur unit of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Alumni Association was held in the Karim City College auditorium. The meeting was chaired by Prof Shamim Ahmed Madani. The AMU Alumni Association, Jamshedpur was reconstituted and a decision was taken to enhance the activities of the unit. In the reconstituted AMU Alumni Association of Jamshedpur, Ilyas Khan was given charge of President while Dr Ale Ali was made the Secretary. A 10 member executive committee was also formed.
A special decision was adopted during the meeting to observe Sir Syed Day on October 17. It was also decided that the Jamshedpur unit of AMU Alumni Association would participate in educational and social activities at the local level. Newly made President, Ilyas Khan said, “The purpose of this meeting is to carry forward the thoughts of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan and to participate in welfare work for society so that all round development can take place.”
