Gamharia, Sep 5: Teachers’ Day was celebrated at XITE Gamharia on Monday, September 5. The celebratory programme was inaugurated by the Principal, Fr Francis, SJ.
A lecture on the major facets of the life of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was delivered by Dr Partha Priya Das. He said, “Teachers’ Day is celebrated on September 5 which is the birthday of the former President of India. He was an academician, philosopher of the highest order whose visions are relevant in present times also. It is reverence to Dr Radhakrishnan that Teachers’ Day is celebrated on his birth anniversary.”
The vote of thanks was offered by Principal, Fr Francis.
A prayer dance and singing competition were organized by the students. Dr Radha Mahali was instrumental in making the entire program a success. Professors Nishith Singh, Shalukant, Dr Pompy Das, Dr Sanchita Ghosh Choudhury and others were present during the Teachers’ Day celebrations organized byt the XITE students.
