Cash and ornaments stolen from retired Tata Motors employee’s house in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Nov 29: Cash and ornaments worth Rs 4 lakh from stolen from a locked house belonging to one Ratneshwar Sharma, a retired employee of Tata Motors, in Birsanagar between 24th November and 25th November last.

The house owner said the lock at the main gate of his house was broken on the morning of 26th November. His son Abhijit, who returned to Jamshedpur from Pune, went inside and found the house in disorder. Abhijit found the locks of two almirahs broken and valuables missing. Cash worth Rs 60,000 along with gold and silver ornaments were stolen from the house, he said.

Police reached the scene and began a probe into the incident. They said absence of CCTV cameras in the neighbourhood had made it difficult for them to detect the theft.
