Jamshedpur: A case of illegal mutation of CNT (Chotanagpur Tenancy) land through the misuse of money, influence and power has come to light, with serious allegations raised by complainant Shailendra Mahato. He claims that a thorough investigation will expose all those involved and lead to legal action against them.

The alleged fraud involves the illegal mutation of CNT land with the collusion of administrative officials, followed by the unauthorized construction of a multi-storey building without proper approval. The complaint has now reached the Raj Bhavan and the Governor has assured strict action following an investigation.

According to Shailendra Mahato, the land in question measures approximately 15 decimals and is located in the Ashiana Garden complex in Sonari. It is identified under plot number 566, account number 3, Halka number 6 and police station number 1156. The Khatian holder of the land is Prahlad Mahato. However, it is alleged that Kishore Golcha fraudulently sold the land to Nidhi Khetan, Abhinav Khetan, Salu Khetan and Manju Khetan by creating fake documents, with Santosh Khetan playing a key role in the transaction.

Mahato further alleged that Santosh Khetan was also involved in illegal land sales in Gamharia and a case has already been filed in court against him. The memorandum submitted to the Governor highlights that not only was the land fraudulently registered, but its mutation was also carried out in collusion with officials. Construction has been ongoing at the site for the past year despite complaints at the local level, which were ignored.

The memorandum names several officials, including the Sub-Divisional Officer, CO, Registrar and Suburban Commissioner of the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee, as accused. Those submitting the complaint include Prahlad Mahato, Nepal Mahato, Lalchand Mahato, Shailendra Mahato and Dhananjay Mahato. The case is now under scrutiny, with the Governor assuring appropriate legal action against those found guilty.
