Displaced individuals to block Jamshedpur Jubilee Park gate on March 3

Jamshedpur, Feb 27: The displaced individuals under the banner of Jharkhand Mulbasi Adhikar Manch staged a one-day dharna in front of the DC office today, demanding justice for their long-pending issues. Their key demands include rehabilitation, compensation, employment opportunities, issuance of displacement certificates, return of their land and the cancellation of the 1996 survey khatian.

The protestors voiced their grievances, stating that they have been struggling for years while unused company land is being encroached upon by outsiders. Along with those displaced by Tata Company, the protest also saw participation from individuals affected by the Dimna Dam project.

A significant number of women and children joined the demonstration, with women demanding their rightful claims and children expressing concerns about their uncertain future. The displaced have warned that if the administration does not take immediate action, they will block the gate of Jubilee Park on March 3 as a mark of protest.

Several social and political organizations extended their support to the demonstrators, standing in solidarity with their cause. The protestors urged the district administration to address their demands at the earliest and deliver justice.

Prominent individuals present at the protest included Harmohan Mahato, Deepak Ranjit, Kumar Chand Mardi, Prahlad Gop, Naren Singh, Sadhan Panda, Sitaram Hembram, Ashish Gaur, Ashim Pradhan, Ramchandra Mahato, Kudri Bodra, Tse Ho, Ghasiram Gop, Tapan Panda and Kanshinath Pradhan.
