Illegal crackers factory busted in Jamshedpur, owner and staff arrested

Jamshedpur: In a significant breakthrough, the police uncovered an unauthorized crackers-manufacturing unit at Golpahari Bustee, situated under the Parsudih Thana area, following a tip-off received on Wednesday. The operation led to the arrest of the factory owner, Rajendra Singh alias Babbu, and one staff member.

The illegal crackers factory was discreetly operating in the residence of Rajendra Singh in the densely-populated Golpahari Bustee, located behind the Golpahadi Gurudwara. Despite being in operation for an extended period, the authorities had not taken any action, leading to resentment among local residents who were critical of the administrative indifference.

Taking the initiative to address the issue, Probationary DSP Sunny Vardhan ordered a raid on the illegal factory. A joint team of police officers from the Parsudih and Sundernagara Thanas conducted the operation, resulting in the confiscation of a significant quantity of crackers, semi-finished products, explosives, and equipment used for manufacturing crackers.

During interrogation, the arrested factory owner, Rajendra Singh, provided crucial information about the source of raw materials for the illegal crackers and revealed details about buyers of the finished products. It is believed that Singh has also disclosed information about similar unauthorized manufacturing units in the adjoining Jugsalai Thana area.

The successful operation, carried out under the leadership of Probationary DSP Sunny Vardhan, highlights the commitment of the police to tackle illegal activities in the region. The crackdown on the unauthorized crackers factory not only ensures public safety but also aims to dismantle the supply chain supporting such illicit operations. The arrested individuals will face legal proceedings, and the police are expected to continue their efforts to curb the illegal manufacturing of crackers in the area.
