IGNOU orientation session held at Karim City College Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) study centre at Karim City College, Sakchi, organized an orientation session for the newly enrolled students for the January 2025 session. The event saw a large number of students and their parents in attendance. The session was inaugurated by Dr. S. M. Yehia Ibrahim, the coordinator of the IGNOU study centre, who welcomed the participants and introduced them to the faculty, including IGNOU office assistants Jameel Ali, Shamim Ahmed and Javed Ali.

During his address, Dr. Ibrahim emphasized the importance of pursuing education through IGNOU and discussed the various opportunities it provides. He also outlined the university’s guidelines and informed attendees that course materials are available in both hard and soft copies. “Our study centre remains open from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM from Monday to Saturday, while the IGNOU office hours are from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Sundays,” he said. He further mentioned that IGNOU conducts exams twice a year in June and December. The academic classes for this session will begin on May 18.

Dr. Sandhya Sinha and Professor A.K. Dash also addressed the gathering, providing detailed insights into the courses. Dr. Mohammad Shah Nawaz shared information about assignments, exam forms and registration procedures.
