ID cards must for drivers during Kali Puja immersion process in Jamshedpur

 

Jamshedpur: Drawing lessons from mishap during immersion procession of Durga Puja idol under Bistupur police station, the administration has given instructions for the provision of ID cards for drivers involved in idol immersion during Kali Puja. DC Manjunath Bhajantri affirmed that the safety of all citizens remains the top priority. Clear instructions were issued concerning Kali Puja, emphasizing

 

Residents were appealed to refrain from playing obscene songs that could potentially ignite social or communal tension. Strict monitoring of DJ usage during the procession was mandated, with a call for stringent action against those disrupting communal harmony.

 

In anticipation of the upcoming Diwali, Kali Puja, and Chhath festivals, a crucial meeting was convened under the able chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri at the Collectorate Auditorium, Jamshedpur. The meeting, attended by Senior Superintendent of Police  Kishore Kaushal, Deputy Development Commissioner  Manish Kumar, Rural SP  Rishabh Garg, SDM Dhalbhum  Piyush Sinha, ADM Law and Order  Rajeev Ranjan, and other administrative and police officers, focused on maintaining law and order during the festive season.

 

The district administration, under the meticulous guidance of  Manjunath Bhajantri, aimed to ensure that the festivals are celebrated in a peaceful and harmonious environment. The District Magistrate emphasized the importance of mutual brotherhood and joy, urging residents to respect each other’s feelings during the festivities.

 

In preparation for Diwali, the District Magistrate mandated licensing for shops selling firecrackers and imposed restrictions on storing fireworks in densely populated areas. Additionally, a ban on high-decibel firecrackers known for causing excessive noise pollution was put in place.

 

The meeting addressed the upcoming Chhath festival, with directives for the timely cleaning of Chhath Ghats, provision of changing rooms for women, marking danger zones, barricading, tagging sailors and divers, and maintaining cleanliness by municipal bodies and JUSCO representatives. Instructions were also issued for installing drop gates at crowded places, ensuring motability of access roads to Chhath Ghats, maintaining a proper miking system, repairing electric poles, and ensuring a smooth traffic system.

 

The Senior Superintendent of Police highlighted robust security arrangements, ensuring an adequate deployment of magistrates, police officers, and forces at sensitive locations. Thorough vehicle checks and verification of drivers involved in idol immersion were emphasized, along with physical verification of immersion routes for Kali Puja and immediate scrutiny of Chhath Ghats on a police station-wise basis.

 

The meeting, attended by a spectrum of officials including Civil Surgeons, Sub-Divisional Officers, District Transport Officers, and Municipal Corporation representatives, underscored the district administration’s commitment to a safe and joyous festive season. The collaborative efforts of administrative and police officials are geared towards ensuring a seamless celebration while upholding the sanctity of law and order.
