Amarpreet Singh Kale is no stranger to Jamshedpur. Always a popular face in the crowd, he remains distinct and a cut above the others of his genre.

His personality exudes confidence, compasssion, affability and highest levels of maturity.

In his early fifties, Kale through his sheer grit and resolve towards social work has carved an unmistakable identity for himself in the society that is inspiring and worth emulating for the youngsters.

He has been an active political worker too and it won’t be out of context to conclude that he too nourishes a dream to become the people’s representative in the state assembly.
In a free-wheeling interview with The Avenue Mail, Kale spoke his heart out while responding to queries related to all aspects of his life.

1. Your journey has been that of a rags-to-riches story. You struggled hard to reach where you are today. How did this happen ?

My journey has been a testament to perseverance, dedication, and the unwavering support of my family. Being part of a family with over a century of deep roots in Jamshedpur, I grew up with values of hard work, integrity, and the belief that true success is achieved through service to others. The road wasn’t easy; there were countless obstacles, but I firmly believed that with determination, even the largest hurdles could be overcome. I ventured into social service early, and gradually, opportunities in business and public service followed. My story is not just mine but belongs to the countless people whose lives I’ve touched and been touched by. It serves as a reminder that one’s background may provide the foundation, but it’s hard work, commitment, and passion that pave the way for success.

2. While scaling the ladders of success, you got involved in social work and soon became very popular. What pushed you into public life ?

Public service has always been my calling. I believe that true success lies not in personal achievements but in how we uplift others. Swami Vivekananda Ji’s touching words, “Mai us prabhu ka sewak hun jise agyani log manusya kehte hain” deeply impacted me, driving me toward a life of service. Another guiding light has been the words of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji: छोटे मन से कोई बड़ा नहीं होता, टूटे मन से कोई खड़ा नहीं होता. These lines resonate with me daily, reminding me to think big and stand tall, no matter the difficulties. Additionally,

I am deeply inspired by the Sikh teachings “Nanak Naam Chardi Kala – Tere Bhane Sarbat Ka Bhala” and “Manas Ki Jaat Sab Ek Pahchano,” which emphasize the importance of working for the welfare of all, without any discrimination. My journey in public life has been about giving back, whether it’s distributing blankets to the needy, supporting families during weddings and shradh ceremonies, organizing large blood donation camps, or inspiring patriotism in the youth. It’s the satisfaction of seeing a smile on someone’s face after receiving help in their toughest moments that keeps me going. Popularity was never the goal; it was an outcome of my dedication to people’s welfare, for which I am so grateful to the people of my town.

3. Today you are running three important social outfits. How are you managing it ?

As a Sikh, I follow the teachings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, which emphasize the well-being of all. Balancing multiple organizations, whether it’s *Naman, Arpan, or Har Har Mahadev Sewa Sangh, requires both passion and purpose. Each initiative addresses a unique aspect of society, from assisting the needy to strengthening national unity and social harmony. It’s challenging, but I am fortunate to have a strong team of youths that shares my vision and helps me manage these causes. Delegation, commitment to the mission, and faith in my team makes it possible to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently.

4. You’ve held various political roles, from ABVP to BJYM, and even served in ministerial positions. How has Arjun Munda Ji guided your political journey ?

I’ve had the privilege of working with some remarkable leaders during my political career. From my early days in ABVP to serving as State Vice President of BJYM, and later as a ministerial committee member for the Prime Minister’s 15-point program, the journey has been educational and rewarding. I owe a great deal to Shri Arjun Munda Ji, who has been more than a mentor; he’s been a father figure. His calm, strategic approach to politics and life has taught me the value of patience, humility, and standing firm on principles. His guidance shaped my approach to both politics and social service, and his leadership continues to inspire me daily.

5. What went wrong in the last assembly election, and why were you suspended from your party ?

The 2019 assembly election was a moment of introspection for me. While there were rumors in the media about my suspension, I’ve never received any official communication from the party regarding this. Senior leaders have assured me that such rumors or news published in media are baseless, and I remain respectful of their guidance. Politics can be unpredictable, but I continue to stay true to my principles and focus on the welfare of the people. Despite setbacks, my dedication to public service is unwavering, and my respect for my party and its leadership remains intact.

6. Are you still inclined towards the BJP, or has the affection faded away ?

My loyalty has always been with the people and the nation, not just towards any political party. While I respect the BJP for its ideology and commitment to the nation, my primary focus remains on serving society, regardless of party lines. The values of nationalism, integrity, and public service transcend political affiliations. My love for India and my community runs deeper than personal or political ambitions.

7. Are you planning to contest the forthcoming assembly elections? If yes, from where and on which party ticket ?

At present, I am in consultation with my close associates and supporters. There is a growing demand for leaders who are genuinely connected to the people and their issues. I am carefully considering my options, and any decision will align with my values of serving society. The constituency I would choose to represent is one where I have a deep understanding of the people’s challenges, and where I can make a meaningful impact, whether it’s improving infrastructure, education, healthcare, or creating employment opportunities. I’m committed to tackling unemployment, alleviating financial hardships of the marginalised, and ensuring that Jamshedpur becomes a city known for its quality education, impeccable healthcare, and youth empowerment.

8. Why do you think people will vote for you ?

Over the last 25–27 years, I have worked closely with the community, not just as a leader but as someone who understands their struggles and aspirations. From the annual Tiranga Yatra, where the entire Kolhan comes together to spread patriotism and respect for the martyrs, to Har Har Mahadev Sewa Sangh’s blanket distribution, food service, and ambulance service, and Arpan’s blood donation camps that operate 24/7, people have seen my commitment to delivering on promises. I stand with the people in their hardships and celebrations, and I am not just asking for votes, I am offering my continued dedication to their welfare. I believe people look for leaders who are accessible, transparent and prompt in taking actions. I have always strived to be that person for society.

9. Where do you see yourself 10 years from now ?

In 10 years, I see myself continuing to serve the nation, hopefully on an even larger platform. My vision is to make Jamshedpur a hub of education and healthcare, creating job opportunities for the youth and ensuring that women, particularly those in difficult financial situations, receive the support they deserve. I want to leave behind a legacy of change where Jamshedpur stands as a symbol of progress, equality, and opportunity for all. Whether through politics or continued social service, I will always work towards a better future for my community and my country.

10. What are your thoughts on the current challenges in Jamshedpur, and how do you plan to address them ?

Jamshedpur faces significant challenges—from unemployment to inadequate healthcare and educational infrastructure. I have always believed that the foundation of any great city lies in empowering its people. My focus will be on transforming Jamshedpur into a district renowned for education and healthcare. By creating job opportunities, promoting entrepreneurship, and ensuring that women and the needy are supported through social programs, we can lift thousands out of poverty. I am committed to making Jamshedpur a beacon of progress for the entire nation.
