Humid weather persists in Jharkhand, rain expected on Friday

Jamshedpur, May 23: Despite the recent rainfall, Jharkhand, including the Kolhan region, continues to grapple with oppressive humid conditions, leaving residents drenched in sweat. On Thursday, temperatures across the state hovered below 40 degrees Celsius, with Palamu registering the highest temperature at 39.9 degrees Celsius. Despite sporadic showers accompanied by thunder and lightning in Ranchi, Khunti, and Lohardaga, the heat persists.

Baharagora recorded a temperature of 37.3 degrees Celsius, while Seraikela and West Singhbhum experienced temperatures of 39.2 and 37.5 degrees Celsius, respectively. Looking ahead, the Meteorological Department predicts rain with thunderstorms in several districts, including Sahibganj, Godda, Pakur, Dumka, Deoghar, Jamtara, Giridih, Dhanbad, Koderma, Hazaribagh, Bokaro, Ranchi, Khunti, Lohardaga, Gumla, Simdega, West Singhbhum, Seraikela, and East Singhbhum on Friday.

In light of the forecast, a yellow alert has been issued for these districts, cautioning residents to prepare for inclement weather conditions. Additionally, thunderstorms are anticipated in Chatra, Palamu, Garhwa, and Latehar, prompting residents to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions.
