Jamshedpur, Jan 30: Hulladek Recycling Pvt Ltd, Eastern India’s fastest growing e-waste management company has collaborated with Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) to make Jamshedpur e-waste free.
“Venturing into Jamshedpur has been beneficial for us. We observed a more aware and environmentally conscious audience here who were willing to drop off their e-waste at designated collection points. Our door-to-door collection drive was also a huge success here and gave us an impetus to take it forward to other cities as well”, said Nandan Mall, Chairman & Managing Director, Hulladek Recycling.
“E-waste management is a great challenge in our city. It is becoming a public health issue and is exponentially increasing day by day. The citizens have an important role to play in e-waste management. We casually discard many small gadgets along with other waste. In order to separately collect and effectively treat e-waste, as well as divert it from conventional landfills and open burning, it is essential to integrate the informal sector with the formal sector. This is what Hulladek is helping the city do in a responsible manner”, said Christina Kachhap, City Manager, Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC).
Hulladek believes in involving the younger generation in their activities directed towards the environment and conducts awareness sessions in schools and colleges to create awareness of e-waste recycling. They have also taken e-waste recycling to the masses by conducting collection drives in residential complexes and clubs in Jamshedpur.
