Hill Top students day out for value education projects

Jamshedpur, Aug. 13: August 12 was a working Saturday at Hill Top School. It was a day dedicated to field trips as well as Project Work, workshops under the umbrella of the school�s Value Education Programme.

Students of various classes were involved in different activities all through the day.

The class 12 students distributed pamphlets and displayed placards spreading awareness about the Blood Donation Camp to be held at Hill Top School on 18th October 2017.

Class 11 students taught students from the NGO, �People for Change� alphabets, words and rhymes in English using Flash Cards

The students from the NGO were also gifted umbrellas, raincoats, footwear & clothes.

Instructor Nikhil Mandal from the National Association for the Blind informed the class 10 students about Braille. They learnt Practical application on Braille board, Abacus & number board.

The students of class 9 planted 100 saplings on Road No 15, Jawahar Nagar, Mango under guidance and supervision of S.A. Ansari (DFO), Debashish (RFO) and Dinesh Chandra (Forest Officer) of the forest Department.

The students also visited an Old Age Home in Baridih. The students interacted with the elders, listening to their words of wisdom of no using mobile phones and no talking while ridding two wheelers.

The students sang songs and the inmates of the old age home too showcased their singing talent. The student offered the elders fruits and juices.

The class 8 students in collaboration with Gopabandhu School engaged in one to teaching i.e. the Buddy Concept which included-Revision of Tenses, Revision of Verb agreement and Introduction of Adverbs

The class 7 students of Hill Top School partnered with Shikshayatan Madhya Vidyalaya, Ghorabandha. The topic taken up was Health and Hygiene.

First Aid Boxes were handed over to the school. Things relating to personal hygiene (hand towels, toothpaste, soaps, and tooth brushes) were also given to the students of the partner school.

A skit was performed by the HTS students. Students interacted with the partner school and answered their questions. It was a very interactive session.

The class 6 students of Hill Top School tied up with students of Gopabandhu School. The topic was Safety & First Aid, Basic English teaching. The Hill Top students enacted a skit on Safety & First Aid. The students of both schools sat in groups and made resource files & first aid boxes.

The Hill Top students taught the Gopabandhu school students basic grammar like nouns and its types. The resource files and first aid boxes made were donated to Gopabandhu School.

Five teachers and 102 students class 5 of Rajkiya Prathamik Vidyalaya visited Hill Top School. The topic of discussion was �Health and Nutrition�. The Hill Top School students showed a PowerPoint presentation on Balanced Diet and Health is Wealth.

They explained the role of carbohydrate, protein, fats, nutrients and vitamins in our diet. The Hill Top students enjoyed making healthy sandwiches and served it to the students and teachers of Rajkiya Prathamik Vidyalaya.

They also made charts explaining Balanced Diet, Food Pyramid, ad skit. A video was also shown on the topic.
